Within the area of human rights the organization needs support with
research, reports, documentation, legal work, advocacy, campaigns…

Although the NGO is MANASA CENTER FOR DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL ACTION,
it is widely acknowledge through the names of its programs and commonly known
as  “SICHREM” (South India Cell for Human
Rights Education and Monitoring).

This small NGO consist of 11 people who devote
50% of their work to education and Human Rights sensitivization programmes and  other 
50% is based on localizing, recording and aiding various cases of Human
Rights violation within their sphere of influence.

They cooperate with advocates, rural zones coordinators and Human
Rights Help Line, Human Rights Mobile Clinic (mobile organization connecting
advocates and social workers from the most disadvantages zones-like the
shantytowns…) Documentation Centre, Women Sensitivization Programmes.

 They carry out a lot of research and
prepare various reports, which constitute a base for the future campaigns.
Furthermore they use them to raise awareness and press government for necessary
changes.

 They also work hand in hand with other organization in order to
fight against child exploitation and demolitions of the shantytowns, rights of
the workers, minorities and above all the right to education and development.



With regard to the volunteers, while visiting NGO there was an
English girl who had been there for a month and provided Veyactua with a very
positive an highly motivating report.

At this moment “SICHREM” is unable to
provide accommodation nor maintenance, as their financial situation is
precarious. Still they are more than willing to help with finding budget
accommodation.



In India the living cost are very low. (Per day : Accommodation:
3-4 Euros ; Food: 2-3 Euros, less if you are willing to cook yourself).
