[en] Volunteers needed in field of Agriculture, water management, Teaching,
organization and archive of documents and documentary, specialist in
HIV campaigns and family planning, web designers.

GUARD was established in 1984 by well motivated social workers who up
to date count for 78 employees (38 full-time and 40 part-time
depending on the project). They are located in 5 districts of
Karnataka, having the main office in Mysore with 10 staff.
They are very fertile and creative with their projects, and it is only
the funding that limits them. Campaigns to inform about HIV risk for
sexual workers and family planning, cooperation with disadvantaged
casts in shantytowns, Women Rights, vocational training, projects
generating resources or employment, environment, water resources are
just some of the issues/fields they are involved in, but mostly they
try to focus on women and children from the most disadvantaged
Unfortunately they still struggle with web construction, and any
volunteer willing to take care of that would be of great help, as
their work would be more visible and accessible.
Women Self Help Groups are one of their collaborators, supporting 25%
of NGOs activities.
Ve y Actua has gathered ample documentation and general information
about their projects so please do not hesitate to contact us in order
to obtain more information.
Period of stay ranges from 1 to 6 months.
